An eye on customer service and customer experience

Lost with somewhere to go…

Good customer service not only impresses the customer but everyone watching too.

Grade for the day: A

Company:
Dillon’s Bus Service

Event:
Going out of the way to give directions

Location:
Downtown Washington DC

On my way home from work, someone at one of the bus stops asked our driver where they could pick up the bus that they were looking for. The woman was obviously distressed and upset. The driver attempted to give the woman directions for a minute or so but it was clear that she was getting the point. Rather than leaving the woman to fend for herself, the driver actually got out of his seat, out of the bus and went out on to the sidewalk to make sure that the woman got the information that she needed.

Needless to say, I was impressed. Making that extra effort with a bus full of customers put the driver (and the company by extension) a step higher in my estimation. I have had other, less than inspiring, experiences with the company but this was a real positive one for me.
