Service with a Smile Never Gets Old
February 21st, 2008 Posted in Grade BA good attitude goes a long way in making a good customer experience
I stopped by AU Bon Pain twice today. Once on the way to work and once on the way out. I have been working in the same building for almost four years and although Au Bon Pain is relatively close, I have never been twice in the same day.
The coffee in the morning was good (certainly much better than what is available in our own microscopic cafeteria), the muffin was good and the cookie and iced tea hit the spot in the afternoon, however what I will probably remember from the day were the smiling cashiers. They were polite, efficient, and had a pleasant enough demeanor that they helped improve my mood (which really wasn’t bad to begin with).
The only real drawback to the experience was that the company has loaded every possible inch of space with their products that it is difficult to navigate from one end of the store to another. I feel that they have gone down the Starbucks road a bit in trying to max out their product line only to detract from the overall customer experience and brand.
All in all though, I have had consistently good experiences at the chain and I will never turn down a smile with my cup of coffee.
